We got Mac just after Callum died in 2005, this was after saying we wasn't
going to have another dog.
Mac was rescued from a family member who was just about to give him up to Lab Rescue, as they were
moving house and they did not allow pets. Mac was a very boisterous boy at first but soon settled
down, he enjoyed his walks to Marbury Park and going to our caravan on a farm in Wales, where he
loved to just sit in the garden people watching, waiting for them to come over and talk to him.
It was a shock to lose Mac as he had no signs of being ill, just 3 days before he died he started to
cough up blood ( straight away I thought cancer ). We took him the vets and he was given an x-ray
and blood test, but the vet said nothing showed up on the x-rays so we were given hope.
Two days after the x-rays Mac wasn't himself and I asked my husband Colin to take him back to the
vets, thinking he was just a bit under the weather.
The vet rang me ( Colin was too upset ) to say he wasn't going to make it, he reckoned it was a
small tumour that didn't show up on the x-rays and it had possibly burst so he was put to sleep.
Last Thursday ( 15th October ) we picked Mac's ashes up from the vets.
God Bless Mac sorry I never had the chance to say goodbye, we will always remember you. Love Mum &
Dad xx

Special Friend
--------------
I came home from work; after a long hard day
but the house felt so empty; I couldn't stay
So I grabbed my coat; and hopped in the car
then drove to the park; it wasn't to far
I walked down the path; and spotted a bench
then it started to rain; guess who got drenched
I dried the bench; then sat down to rest
I looked up in the tree; and saw a bird's nest
I watched two dogs; take a break for a drink
as my mind started wandering; I started to think
I thought about times; from back in the past
when the fun we had; would last and last
The kid's would see us; as we walked in the park
and they'd come a runnin; as you let out a bark
With your friendly bark; and wagging tail
off you'd all go; play on the trails
You were so kind and gentle; never a pest
in everyone's book; you were simply the best
Always there; for one in need
as you did your best; to do a good deed
I got up from the bench; and walked to my car
then drove back home; it wasn't very far
I walked in the house; and pulled up a chair
then opened a window; to get some fresh air
I went to the kitchen; to get a drink
then sat in the chair; and began to think
My life has been blessed; since the day we met
to me you are one; very special pet
The Lord decided; to put us together
I'll always be thankful; for ever and ever
You are my star; my guiding light
my eyes and ears; in the black of night
I look to the day; we'll be together again
just me and my very; special friend

Message From Valhalla
You were with me to the very end and even after I had "gone" you held me, and as my soul left my body and I looked down and saw you crying, I wanted so much to tell you that I understood. You did this for me.
I tried to tell you in my own way that it was time for me to leave, and I thank you for understanding. No other will take my place, but those I left behind will need your love and affection as I have had.
You still think of me, and there are times you try to hide your tear-filled eyes....but please...be happy and think not of sadness, but of how I made you happy and made you laugh at the funny and smart things I did.
There are no fences in Valhalla, for no one has the desire to "dig out".
There are no thunderstorms in Valhalla, therefore fear is never present.
There are no fights in Valhalla. Everyone is congenial.
There is no hunger. There is no thirst. There is much to explore. Many of us who are older take care of the little ones and guide them. It's fun watching them run with their ears flopping and their curly tails wagging.
We have four seasons in Valhalla, and most of us agree, winter is our favorite.
So you see, my loved one, I am very happy...
When it comes time for my friends to leave, I will meet them at the gates of Valhalla, and I will acquaint them with this beautiful and serene place, and I will take care of them for you.
Thank you for loving me, caring for me, and having the courage to let me go with dignity.

Not many people understand
Just how you feel today
And really it’s so difficult
To find the words to say
For you have lost a special friend
Who meant so much to you
And they will stay inside your heart
Whatever you may do
Such precious recollections
Of love you truly shared
And natural devotion
That can never be compared
So just remember happy moments
Smile if you can
Be thankful for time you had
And you will understand
Although it’s hard, there has to be
A time to say “Goodbye”
But memories which are dear to you
Will never ever die

MAC WITH LOVE
One of the wonders
I searched the wonders of nature
For visions as lovely as you,
Found snow-covered peaks and waterfalls
And roses with sequins of dew.
Then taking my palette and brushes
I captured the joys that I saw
And hung all the canvases on my walls
Till the walls couldn't hold any more.
Surrounded by these many splendours
My dazzled mind held in their thrall,
I spent several hours and didn't feel
The pain of your absence at all.
But alas all my beautiful pictures
Began to dissolve in the night,
And walls once again stark and empty
Greeted the cold morning light.
I thought of you then and remembered
All the treasures beyond your sweet face.
And I knew you were one of the wonders
That nature could never replace.

Remember the Love
Goodbye can be the saddest word,
And often it is not a word we are
prepared for but at a time like this,
words that would make a difference are few.
We are always taught that everything has a season
And that though the summer must go to make room
for autumn and winter, there is always a spring.
Somehow those words don’t seem to be enough at a time like this.
They are meant to comfort, to console,
but often leave us feeling hollow.
The real comfort comes in knowing that we’ve care,
that we’ve invested ourselves, and that we’ve loved.
The void is something no one can deny or fill or talk away with words,
But in grief we feel the magnitude of love.
Though our loss is heavy, we must realize that our love was a great blessing in the life of one.....
Who heard the call to come home.

MAC WITH LOVE
Into Spirit
I see you grieve,
I feel you grieve
But I am with you.
And will stay, til you laugh
When remembering the fun
We had in all those years.
Thank you for the courage to let me go,
No more weary, no more pain,
I am with you, you will feel me
My cold nose, my waving tail.
You will see my smiling mouth and shining fur,
You will hear my happy voice.
I can run now, I can play now
With all my family and my friends.
But I will love you and I will watch you
Til we meet again.
A Woodland Place
A woodland place full of dreams,
A mossed bank and bluebells,
Grey ashes floating down
Sinking into browned rich earth,
Spirit soft bodies,
Happy eyes waving tails
Cold noses pressed into our hands
There and all around, easing grief,
In soft warm, warm spring air.

I wake in the morning
with a sense of longing,
I wish you about
As I walk our route,
With a squeakie in my pocket
That is now my locket.
I feel your essence
I miss your presence.
Your toys in the room
have an aura of gloom,
Your bedding now cold
from lack of your hold,
The biscuits that I bought
they remain in their spot.
I feel your essence
I miss your presence.
The sound of your brush
now forever is hushed,
Your leash remains still
but against my will,
The sound of your pant,
Hear it!, I can’t.
I feel your essence
I miss your presence.

Angels In Disguise
Softly they creep through time and space
To give us a glimpse of our Creator's grace.
With eyes gleaming and tails held high,
They know unconditional love is nigh.
Into the hardest heart they creep.
Sowing seeds of Love that grow so deep.
And anyone can tell you it's well known,
They can even soften hearts of stone.
Then they must leave us and go away,
Perhaps to brighten someone else's day.
And when it comes our time to quit the race,
They are the first to welcome us to that special place.

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
